The summer signing Memphis Depay, came to his Manchester United's rescue with two stunning goals as Louis Van Gaal’s side came from behind to take a strong lead to Belgium for the play-off second leg. The forward produced a stunning performance as Manchester United beat Club Brugge in the first leg of their Champions League play-off with 3-1.

The visitors took a shock lead after just eight minutes from Michael Carrick diverted Victor Vazquez’s free kick into his own net, but neat footwork from Memphis levelled matters soon after with his first goal for the club.

 

Memphis Depay was the standout for United throughout and notched his second just before half-time, cutting in from the left and curling a fine effort past Sebastien Bruzzese to give his side the lead.
