According to Premium Times, the Department of State Services (DSS) has sacked a former chief security officer (CSO) to immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua, in the latest mass purge by the secret service.

It was learnt that Obua's dismissal was carried out alongside one Liman Widi, a personal assistant to the former director general of the service, Ita Ekpenyong, on the strength of recommendation of an investigation panel lead by a former director of training of the DSS.

This dismissal was hinged on the allegation of corrupt practices and playing partisan roles which is inimical to the codes of the service.

A source privy to the development disclosed that Obua and Widi were asked to go on the allegation of their involvement in oil bunkering deals.

According to security sources, the defence of the former CSO to Jonathan that he was not complicit in alleged $6.9m deal and oil bunkering was not convincing to the probe panel.

It was reported that former DSS operatives allegedly conspired with a former minister of petroleum under the administration of Jonathan to spend about $6.9million in one deal to purchase three-feet mobile stages for use during mass public speaking events.
