A Nigerian blogger arrested by the police has been remanded in an Ikoyi prison for libel and blackmail for accusing a man of sleeping with Nollywood Actress, Genevieve Nnaji.

Mr. Desmond Chima Ike, a blogger and publisher of myemag.net and e-Nigeria.com has been ordered by the Igbosere Magistrate Court of Lagos to be remanded in an Ikoyi prison following a petition by a bank executive on what the police termed malicious publication.
Ike was arraigned on Friday on a five-count charge before the magistrate court for malicious publication, libel and blackmail.
According to a Guardian newspaper report, Mr. Ike was arrested by the police after a petition from Mr. Phillips Oduoza, GMD/CEO of UBA who accused the blogger of posting malicious contents and articles against his person in which the blogger alleged he, Mr. Phillips Oduoza had illicit affairs with Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji.
After hearing the case, Ike was granted bail but was unable to meet the terms of his bail. He was remanded at Ikoyi prisons until October 30, 2015 when the case will come up for hearing.
