World's Fattest Woman Loses Title After Tremendous Weight Loss (Photos)

 

Catrina Raiford, who was once dubbed the 'Half Tonne Woman', has started her weight loss journey to a healthier life.

 

However, she has been left with a whopping ten stone of excess flesh to deal with following her remarkable weight loss.

 

The 38-year-old from Florida was bedbound for five years, and was even the world’s fattest woman at one point.

But the final straw came in 2003, when medics had to bulldoze the side of her house to treat her breathing problems.

 

She immediately embarked on a strict diet, consisting only of lean meat, fruit and vegetables, and stuck to a regime of light exercise.

Now, thanks to her efforts, Catrina has lost 36 stone – and she looks great.

‘I’m so much happier now and feel so confident,’ she said. ‘I was in bed for so long that now I’ve lost the weight I just want to be free. I love running around, going to the gym three or four times a week and keeping fit.’

Catrina took to comfort eating when she was a child, after suffering years of sexual abuse.
