A presidential spokesperson has defended the actions of ex-president Jonathan after he paid Buhari another surprise visit at the villa.
Goodluck Jonathan and President Buhari
Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina has refuted claims that ex-president Jonathan's visit at the Villa has anything to do with the ex-president's past administration as earlier reported by a popular news platform.
He said the ex-president has the right to visit the Buhari anytime he pleases. Adesina told people to stop making insinuations capable of heating the polity. He said: “He has the right to visit the villa anytime as a former president."
It was widely reported that Jonathan visited Buhari amid speculations that the present administration was bent on probing the past administration for corruption and mismanagement of public funds. The report also said that the former president is not happy that his former cabinet members, ex-security adviser and many others who served in his government have become objects of mockery and intimidation by the government.
It was also speculated that the ex-president visited Buari to discuss on political matters and to ensure that the details of the peace accord signed before the 2015 presidential elections are followed accordingly.
