The federal government has urged all civil servants to be guided by the Nigerian Public Service Rules, PSR.
 
The reaction from the Office of the Head of Civil Services, OHCSF came following the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to drag the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and others to court over his Presidential ambition.
 
Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of OHCSF said they civil servants should be guided by Malami’s legal opinion.
 
Emefiele dragged Malami, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC; the All Progressives Congress, APC; before a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking enforcement of his right to contest the 2023 Presidential election without resigning from his current position.
 
His suit with No FHC/ABJ/CS/610/2022 instituted on his behalf by a Constitutional lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, has been fixed for hearing today, Monday.

Reacting, Yemi-Esan explained that the need for compliance was in the interest of neutrality, harmony, integrity, and development of the Nigerian Civil Civil Service.
 
A statement by Yemi-Esan reads partly: “Accordingly, in the overall best interest of neutrality, integrity, and development of Nigerian Civil Service, all civil servants are strongly advised to be guided by the provisions of PSR and the legal opinion of Attorney-General of the Federation/Minister of Justice on the subject.
 
“The contents of this circular should be given widest circulation for the compliance of all.”
