An illegal oil loading point in Odorubu waterside in Patani council area of Delta state has been rounded up by men of the Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigeria Security and Defence Corps, NSCDC.
The command’s public relations officer, DSC Emeka Peters Okwechime, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, July 27, said four suspects were arrested while 6 oil tankers were impounded.
The spokesman said the vandals used a tanker to barricade the only road leading to the illegal loading point to prevent men of the NSCDC from gaining access to the illegal loading point.
"Following credible intelligence and mounted 24 hours surveillance, the Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad arrested 4 Suspects and impouded 6 Tankers and 2 Vehicles laden with illegaly Refined Automotive Gas Oil popularly called Diesel at Orobo village, Ofoni River Waterside, Patani LGA of Delta State," the statemnt read.
"The Oil Tankers were intercepted while conveying very large quantities of locally and illegaly refined AGO in Tankers and many cellophane bags packed in the two vehicles.
"The 6 trucks exhibit have since been successfully evecauted and handed over to the Delta State Command for further investigation and prosecution."
