The government of Lagos State has disclosed that the construction of the Lekki Regional Road project has kicked off.
The 8.75km road project being constructed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration will decongest traffic within the Lekki axis and serve as an alternative to the Eti-Osa Epe Expressway.
The state government said in a statement that the Regional road project includes: 8.75Km road, 500m bridge, 251m interchange, 50m bicycle lane and adjoining 500m road.
It added that Lekki Sub-Region is set to be the new economic centre of Lagos with the siting of the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lekki Ports, Dangote Petrochemical Plant, Lekki Airport as well as other industrial and commercial developments in the area.
