How 2 Teenagers Perished, 7 Rescued After Horrific Boat Mishap In Jigawa Community

A boat mishap at Miga Local Government Area of Jigawa State has left two people dead.

However, seven others were rescued.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Jigawa State, Lawan Shiisu Adam, said the accident happened when nine farmers were returning from their farm in Galauchime to Sansani village in Miga LGA.

He said on reaching a river, they boarded a canoe paddled by one Ado Dan Maguga to sail to Sansani but unfortunately, the canoe capsized due to the rain and wind storm.

“Seven people were rescued while the other two were not.

“The two people that were found dead are Imran Rabiu, 12 years; and Tasiu Rabiu, 14 years. Their corpses were found and released to their family for burial.”
