EPL: Thierry Henry Slams Chelsea Owner, Boehly Over De Bruyne, Salah, New League Proposal

Thierry Henry, the Arsenal legend, has criticized Todd Boehly.

He slammed Todd Boehly, the Chelsea co-owner over the Premier League changes he has suggested.

The former Arsenal star also lambasted the Blues’ owner over his lack of knowledge of his club.

Todd Boehly has come under enormous criticism this week after the American billionaire suggested that the traditional three-up-three-down relegation format should be replaced by a four-team tournament.

He also said there should be a North vs South All-Star match.

Boehly further claimed that the west London club had developed both Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah.

But De Bruyne and Salah did not come through Chelsea’s academy.

Reacting to Boehly’s suggestions on CBS Sports, Henry said: “Did he say a lesson? A lesson? What’s that supposed to mean? What are they trying to teach? A lesson? Are you a teacher or something?

“The comment about De Bruyne and Mo Salah… just learn your own lessons and then come back and teach us something.”

When it was put to Henry that Boehly seemed to have really ‘irritated’ him, the Frenchman replied: “No he did that himself. Did I say that? He did.”

Expanding on why he has such disdain for the ideas, Henry explained: “I don’t like them because this is Europe and it doesn’t work like that.

“Teams go up and down. All-Star game for what? I wouldn’t have liked to have [played in one]. Maybe [the public would like it] but you ask me and nope.”
