Indebted Nigerian Man Goes Missing After Sending Suicide Note To Friend, Professing Love For Mum, Friends

David Adeyi Opeyemi, a young Nigerian man, has been declared missing.

He was declared in Lagos after he sent a suicide note in the form of a message to his flat mate.

He, however, expressed his love for his mother, family members and friends, adding that he could not endure the pain anymore.

David, in the message he sent to his flat mate, said, “In case my mumsi (mummy) call you, tell her say you dey Island (tell her you are on the Island).

“Bro I have fought for years and tried all I can to make this right, I honestly didn’t mean to make the situation be like this, I’m sorry I left in a mess. I’m sorry for everything I have costed, but never wanted it to be this way.

“I can’t just control it anymore. Please help me tell my mum, my best friends and close friends I really do love them and wish all can be well, but I’m sorry I would rather die than see everyone go through pains because of me.

“I love you Dammy. Thanks for always being a brother, don’t bother finding me till we meet in the next life.”

According to David’s friend, @OGRhoda who raised the alarm over his disappearance on Twitter on Wednesday, he was last seen at Ipaja area in Lagos on Tuesday.

Attached with David’s photograph, @OGRhoda wrote, “Please we 've been looking for this guy since yesterday… Please help me retweet to create awareness. He was last seen in lagos.. Ipaja.”

David’s flat mate, whom he sent the suicide note, said he (David) has been going through a lot of crisis including business challenges.

“Hi guys, my friend is currently going through a crisis (business challenges) he sent me this cryptic message not too long ago. His known numbers have since then been unavailable. Please you all should help me message/call. This means a lot to me. Thanks,” the flat mate wrote beneath the screenshot of David’s message.

A Twitter user, Oluwatomisin, who identified himself as David’s colleague at Computer Village, Ikeja (a market for information and communications technology accessories) said he saw the missing man last Friday, adding that he was robbed of N800,000 when he went to withdraw money from a POS machine.

Oluwatomisin also noted that David owes a lot of people some money in Computer Village, saying he knows about three people he owes about N1 million.

“Dix (this) guy at ikeja. Colleague for computer village. Still saw him last week Friday. Omo mehn. He was robbed when he went to withdraw 800k (N800,000) from pos machine.  Owing a lot of people at computer village.. I know about three people that he is owing about 1m (N1 million). But this isn’t solution mehn,” he wrote.
