The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has hailed Pa Reuben Fasoranti and some Afenifere elders for backing him to become the next President in 2023.
Naija News reports that the former Governor of Lagos State received their endorsement during a meeting he had with the Afenifere leaders at Fasoranti’s residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday.
Speaking during the meeting, Tinubu appreciated the leaders of the organization for finding him worthy to be endorsed for the 2023 presidency, promising not to disappoint them.
The APC candidate said the struggle he encountered before clinching the APC ticket was a constant reminder of why he cannot afford to fail.
Tinubu, however, appreciated some of the Northern governors such as Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State who supported that the APC’s presidential ticket should be zoned to the South.
He disclosed that no Yoruba man or woman opposed the ticket, stressing that the 2023 presidency is not just a Yoruba thing but a Nigeria project.
