A suspected criminal Sulaimon Habeeb has been apprehended in Kogi with a car stolen from Ekiti state.
According to the Ekiti police command's spokesperson, DSP Sunday Abutu, police officers on December 18, at about 0800 hours, received a distress call about a Toyota Corolla car stolen at the GRA in Ado-Ekiti and swung into action.
The Anti-Vehicle Theft Section (AVTS) of the state CID, traced the vehicle to Iyamoye in Kogi State, where the suspect was arrested with it.
Abutu said;
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime and said he had been into car theft operation since 2021.
“The suspect also stated that he operated majorly in Ekiti, Kogi and Kano while his major buyers are from Abuja, Kaduna and Kano.”
