A Makadara Law court has fined a woman of Ksh20,000 in default to six months jail term for causing traffic while engaging in s3xual intercourse with her boyfriend in her car.
The motorist, whose name has been withheld, was handed the sentence after she pleaded guilty to the charges of causing a disturbance and obstructing traffic at Thika Road Mall in Roysambu on January 24, 2023.
This came after the court was informed that she was arrested by traffic officers from Kasarani Police Station who were manning the road near the Thika Road Mall.
At the time of her arrest, she was found in a compromising situation with a man in the car which was stopped in the middle of the road. It remains unclear why the two opted to have s3x along a busy road.
The prosecution told the court that the officers politely interrupted the session and asked the two lovebirds to move to the driveway but they were faced with hostility.
The prosecutor said;
"Enraged by the police request to drive away, the accused person began hurling insults at the officers who were armed and even reportedly dared them to open fire."
Officers immediately lodged a report of the drama that unfolded to their boss at Kasarani Police Station. He then sent reinforcement who overpowered the two lovers who were arrested.
The lady who admitted that the facts of the case were correct during her trial, urged the court to forgive her saying she is remorseful and will never repeat the acts again.
The magistrate fined her Ksh10,000 for each offence or an alternative of six months imprisonment. She has 14 days to appeal.
