A few hours before the 2025 World Championships begin in Tokyo, Japan, former world champion and women’s 100m hurdles record holder, Tobi Amusan, has criticized the Nigerian government over the kits supplied to her and fellow athletes representing the country.
Amusan voiced her concerns over what she perceived as unprofessionalism and lack of coordination within the federation.
In a video she shared on her Snapchat, Amusan said unlike other countries that provide their contingents with kits in suitcases, the Nigerian government hands them kits in nylon bags with little or nothing significant inside it.
‘’This country will steadily embarass you. Una come say make people nor switch allegiance? Una never ready. No singlets. Nothing!'' she said
She further stated that although the Jamaican authorities are also lagging behind with regards providing for their contingents, they are not as bad as their Nigerian counterpart.
