Distraught Driver Threatens To K!ll Himself After Crashing His Employer’s ₦200m Cadillac Escalade In Lagos (Video)

A video which is making the rounds on social media has shown the aftermath of a crash involving an ultra-luxury Cadillac Escalade, reportedly valued at over ₦200 million.

The incident, said to have occurred in Lagos, involved a driver who allegedly lost control of the vehicle. Footage from the scene shows the SUV with extensive front-end damage, deployed airbags, bent rims and significant bodywork impact.

In the clip, the driver is seen seated on the ground near the wrecked vehicle, appearing distressed as bystanders gather around the scene.

Details regarding the exact cause of the accident and whether any injuries were sustained have not been officially confirmed as of the time of this report.

“I’d rather kill myself than survive after this… I don’t know how I’ll face my oga… this car is worth over ₦200 million… my life is finished.”

The man, who appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s, breaks down in sobs, expressing deep fear of losing his job, facing legal consequences, or being unable to repay the damage. 

Onlookers attempt to console him, with some assuring him that “life is more important than any car,” while others urge calm and call for help.

The Escalade—believed to be a recent high-spec model (possibly the V-Series or fully loaded ESV)—is one of the most expensive SUVs in Nigeria, often customized with bulletproofing, rims, and interior upgrades pushing the price far beyond ₦200m.

The incident once again highlights the intense psychological and financial pressure many drivers face when handling high-value property in Nigeria’s elite circles.
