Panic As Gunmen K!ll POS Operator, Escape With Cash In Benue

A point-of-sale (POS) operator was shot de@d by suspected armed robbers while serving customers at his business location in Gboko, Benue State.

Sources in the area said the incident occurred when the attackers suddenly stormed the location where the young man was carrying out his daily business activities.

The victim, who reportedly relied on the POS service for his livelihood, was shot during the robbery.

After carrying out the attack, the gunmen reportedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money taken from the POS stand.

An eyewitness who recounted the incident said the attack was unexpected and created panic among people nearby.

“It happened so fast. We never imagined such violence here,” the witness said.

As of the time this report was filed, the Benue State Police Command had yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

However, sources said security authorities have begun investigations into the k!lling.

Residents of the community have since mourned the victim, describing him as a hardworking young man striving to make a living.

They also sympathised with the bereaved family, offering prayers for comfort and strength during the difficult period.
