A faction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), led by its factional president Tajudeen Baruwa, has seized control of the union’s national secretariat.
Recall that the NURTW has been engulfed in an internal crisis over the last two years, following a delegates’ conference expected to produce new leadership.
Notwithstanding the tussle, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, has continued to occupy the National Secretariat.
However, the Baruwa-led faction took over the secretariat on Monday, as members of the faction were seen in a viral video removing and destroying MC Oluomo’s portraits.
