According to security sources, the operation was conducted at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 9, 2026, by troops of the 17 Brigade deployed from the Forward Operating Base in Malumfashi.
The joint team stormed the Kauyan Dawo community in Malumfashi Local Government Area, acting on intelligence about suspected drug-related activities in the area. The raid resulted in the arrest of six individuals allegedly engaged in drug peddling within the community.
Substances recovered during the operation included 82.5 grams of cannabis sativa, 15.7 grams of Exol-5, and 1.8 grams of D5. The suspects and all seized items have since been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and potential prosecution.
