The Nigeria Police Force has announced a significant development in the investigation into the killing of Bishop Chinedu Clarence James, revealing that his stolen Toyota Land Cruiser has been recovered and two suspects connected to the crime have been apprehended.
The operation was executed by the Anambra State Police Command after intelligence indicated that the stolen vehicle was being transported to Onitsha for sale.
Acting on the directive of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, operatives tracked and intercepted the suspects through a carefully coordinated, intelligence-driven operation.
Early findings from the investigation suggest that one of the suspects reached out to a cousin based in Onitsha to help find a buyer for the vehicle, shortly after the bishop was abducted and killed in Delta State on May 12.
Both suspects were arrested at the point of the intended sale, and the Toyota Land Cruiser was seized as a key piece of evidence.
The police have since confirmed that investigations are being intensified with the goal of uncovering and dismantling the full criminal network responsible for the bishop's kidnapping, murder, and the attempted disposal of his stolen vehicle.
