The trial of social media personality and relationship coach Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, hit a snag on Wednesday after her legal representative informed the court that she was too ill to appear, being held in custody at the time.

She is being prosecuted before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on two counts brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, accusing her of collecting money under false pretences and misappropriating N36 million.

When the matter resumed for further hearing, her lawyer, P.I. Nwafuru, explained to the court that correctional service officials had reported that his client was sick and could not be brought in for the session. He then requested that the case be pushed back, promising to submit a medical report on her condition at the next sitting.

Justice D.I. Dipeolu granted the request and moved the case to Monday, July 20, 2026, for the trial to continue.

Part of the allegations against her states that between July 14 and 17, 2024, in Lagos, she collected the sum of N36,000,000.00 from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye by falsely claiming she would lease out a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos State a claim she reportedly knew to be untrue, an act said to breach Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
