Cristiano Ronaldo Says His Son Is Already Stronger Than He Was at 16

Cristiano Ronaldo has predicted that his eldest son will eventually surpass him in physical stature, noting that the teenager already demonstrates greater strength than he himself possessed at the same age.

The Portugal captain made these remarks in a video shared by a sports media outlet while observing his son training with the Al Nassr youth team.

Speaking about his 16-year-old son, Ronaldo described him as a good kid, contrasting him favourably against his younger children at home whom he characterised as more challenging.

He noted that his son currently appears somewhat bigger and stronger than he himself was at that age, expressing confidence that his son would ultimately grow larger than him physically.

Ronaldo nonetheless emphasised that physical attributes alone would not determine his son's football success.

When questioned about whether his son possessed comparable competitive drive, Ronaldo responded that hunger represents the most difficult quality to cultivate.

His eldest child, born June 17, 2010, currently plays for the Al Nassr youth team.

Ronaldo also has twins born via surrogate in June 2017, along with daughters born to his partner Georgina Rodríguez, one of whose twin brother died during childbirth in 2022.

The 41-year-old remains among football's most decorated players, having won 36 major team trophies across his career with various clubs and the Portuguese national team.

His honours include five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d'Or awards, a UEFA European Championship title, two UEFA Nations League titles, and multiple domestic league championships across England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia. He remains the all-time leading scorer in men's international football.

Ronaldo's most recent competitive appearance came in Portugal's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on July 6, a match widely regarded as marking the conclusion of his international career.
