20-Year-Old Nigerian Student Killed in UK Knife Attack

A 20-year-old Nigerian university student, Khaleed Oladipo, has been fatally stabbed in the United Kingdom following a dispute with his former acquaintance over an alleged £3,000 debt and a counterfeit timepiece, according to testimony presented at court.

Oladipo, enrolled as a third-year Cyber Security student at De Montfort University in Leicester, suffered fatal injuries on February 3, 2026, while travelling back to his residence from his girlfriend's accommodation.

Leicester Crown Court heard that Oladipo and 18-year-old Harper Dennis developed their acquaintance after connecting through online gaming communities and participating in identical social media groups. Their relationship subsequently deteriorated significantly.

Prosecution testimony established that escalating tension emerged after Dennis claimed Oladipo owed him £3,000.

Court proceedings also revealed that Dennis had attempted to sell a Rolex timepiece supplied by Oladipo at a London jewellery establishment, discovering only subsequently that the watch was counterfeit.

Allegedly exchanged communications between the pair demonstrated Dennis issuing threats regarding the financial dispute.

During the February 3 encounter, the two individuals engaged in brief physical altercation resulting in Oladipo sustaining fatal knife injuries.

Oladipo collapsed whilst communicating with his girlfriend via telephone and was subsequently pronounced deceased at hospital.

Police apprehended Dennis at his university residence, recovering multiple knives and blood-stained garments from the location.

Dennis has entered a not guilty plea to murder accusations, possession of a bladed instrument and refusal to disclose his mobile telephone access code.

He contends he acted in self-defence.

The Leicester Crown Court proceeding is anticipated to extend approximately three weeks.
