Military troops have conducted successful operations resulting in the rescue of 23 kidnapped individuals and the elimination of 19 t3rrorists across multiple locations within a 24-hour period spanning August 10-11.
Operational reports disclosed the coordinated results on Tuesday.
In Zamfara State, troops engaged criminal elements who had kidn@pped 18 persons from Sabon Gari in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
Following a distress alert, military personnel engaged the assailants, compelling them to abandon their captives and flee the vicinity.
All 18 victims were recovered unharmed.
In separate Plateau State operations, troops rescued an individual abducted from Duguri Village in Bauchi State on August 6 and recovered near Kukawa Village in Kanam Local Government Area.
Additional Plateau operations resulted in the elimination of one t3rrorist and recovery of an AK-47 rifle plus ammunition following intelligence from a detained suspect.
Kebbi State witnessed the n£utr@lisation of 18 t3rrorists during an att@ck on Mobile Police Special Intervention Squad personnel at Makuku in Sakaba Local Government Area.
Troops subsequently conducted clearance operations recovering two locally fabricated rifles and destroying five motorcycles.
In Borno, military personnel recovered five individuals who had escaped a t3rrorist encampment in the Mandara Mountains region following internal conflict and fighter abandonment.
The escapees were encountered during patrol operations in Gwoza Local Government Area.
Enugu State operations yielded seizure of four AK-47 rifles, ammunition and magazines from a kidn@ppers' hideout following rescue of abducted victims and arrest of syndicate members operating across the South-East region.
Taraba operations resulted in detention of 19 suspects and seizure of motorcycles, pumping equipment, communications devices and currency during offensive operations in Gashaka Local Government Area.
These operations emphasise sustained intelligence-directed enforcement, targeted interventions and coordinated security agency action disrupting criminal and extremist networks nationwide.
