Police Rescue Crying Maid Locked in Toilet for Months by Employers in Rivers State

A 15-year-old girl named Amarachi has been rescued after allegedly being locked inside a toilet for months by the couple she worked for in Abuloma, Rivers State.

The teenager from Ebonyi State was working as a maid for Eze Simeon and his wife when she was allegedly locked away after being accused of committing an offence.

During her confinement, she reportedly endured severe neglect and was fed only once a day with leftover food.

The girl raised an alarm on Monday, September 14, when the couple left the house.

Neighbours heard her cries for help and contacted the Abuloma Police Division.

Officers arrived and rescued the teenager from the toilet.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage online, with Nigerians condemning the alleged treatment of the girl and calling for those responsible to face prosecution.

Many people expressed shock at the length of time the child was allegedly confined and described the act as evil and a crime against humanity.

Others called for harsh punishment for the couple and questioned how such abuse could happen in the system.
