Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and former Zamfara State governor, has urged voters in Ekiti State to back President Bola Tinubu's re election in 2027.
He said Tinubu has done well and deserves a second term.
Speaking at an APC rally in Ekiti on Thursday, Yari asked residents to deliver at least 800,000 votes for Tinubu.
He said that would be about 90 per cent of the votes expected in the state.
He said Tinubu has not forgotten Ekiti.
He pointed to new schools and universities, road building, support for young people and women's empowerment programmes.
Yari reminded the crowd that Ekiti gave Tinubu 80 per cent of its votes in 2023 and urged the state to do even better in 2027.
He said more than 900,000 of the state's 1,080,000 registered voters have collected their Permanent Voter Cards.
He said candidates who ran against Governor Biodun Oyebanji in past elections, including from the PDP, APM and SDP, attended the rally to show support for the governor and for Tinubu.
Yari urged Ekiti leaders to mobilise residents, saying Tinubu has promised to do more for the state if re elected.
He also challenged opposition parties to explain how their plans would differ from the current government's.
He claimed the administration has cut inflation and food prices by more than 50 per cent.
He said people in the North see Tinubu as one of their own, and that the North will deliver for him in 2027.
He also urged Ekiti residents not to let the President's efforts go to waste.
Tinubu is seeking re election in the presidential election set for January 16, 2027.
