The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has banned drones, fireworks and other devices that could cause panic.
The ban is in place ahead of President Bola Tinubu's one day working visit to the state on Friday.
Tinubu is expected to commission projects built under Governor Umo Eno's administration.
He will also attend a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
State Police Commissioner Baba Azare announced the restrictions at a news conference in Uyo on Thursday.
He said they are meant to keep the visit peaceful and protect residents.
Residents were advised to avoid the routes reserved for the president's convoy.
Major roads, including Airport Road, Iron Road and Ring Road III, leading to the Godswill Akpabio Stadium will be closed during the visit.
Azare also asked other political parties to move any events planned for Friday to another day, to avoid disorder.
He warned that the police will not allow anyone to disrupt the visit or cause unrest, and said the command is ready to deal with any threat.
Projects set to be commissioned include the new terminal building at Victor Attah International Airport, the Aviation Village, the Ring Road III Extension and Arise Resort Park in Uyo.
