Senator Adam is saying that President Tinubu is helping workers by giving them an extra N70,000 every month for transport.

Speaking in a television interview on Thursday, Oshiomhole defended the government's record and urged Nigerians to recognise its policies.

He said a worker earning N70,000 who now receives an extra N70,000 gets a 100 per cent increase.

He said that for ordinary people, an extra N10,000 means a lot, so Nigerians should see that Tinubu cares.

The allowance was approved after a meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on October 27.

It will be paid to workers at all levels for six months, starting in November 2026.

The deal also covers outstanding peculiar allowances, to be paid in three equal monthly instalments from November.

The Trade Union Congress, TUC, has rejected the transport allowance.

It wants a permanent pay rise instead of temporary relief.

Oshiomhole also criticised the Obasanjo administration, in which Atiku Abubakar was vice president.

He accused it of failing to guarantee workers' salaries.

He said the 2027 election will give voters a choice between Tinubu, whom he credited with unifying the exchange rate, and Atiku, whom he accused of allowing multiple exchange rates that benefited people with connections.

He also said Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has offered no alternative to Tinubu's policies.

He called Obi a trader who thinks only in the short term, while Tinubu thinks about the next generation.

Oshiomhole said opposition candidates have every right to run.

However, he said Tinubu should be allowed to finish what he started rather than replacing him with someone.
