The Ondo State APC has accused Governor Mimiko of using the state's resources to sponsor some members of the PDP's national working committee.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh

In a statement by the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s Publicity Secretary in Ondo State, Omoba Adesanya, the Party has accused Governor Olusegun Mimiko of using the state’s resources to sponsor some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s National Working Committee, especially the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, on a monthly basis.

He therefore, asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe alleged mismanagement of the state’s funds by the Mimiko administration.

“We reliably gathered that Olisa Metuh and some PDP national officers are on the payroll of the Ondo State Government. The funds paid to these leaders , which is running into several millions of naira monthly, was part of the agreement reached with Mimiko before the latter was appointed as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

"In view of the prevailing condition of non-payment of workers’ salaries, the non-payment of pensioners’ allowances and gratuities for more than two years; the neglect and complete abandonment of state-owned industries coupled with infrastructural decay, Mimiko is still reckless and in spending our funds on frivolities; buying awards here and there; sponsoring the PDP national secretariat, (especially the office of the National Publicity Secretary), while leaving the good people of Ondo State to wallow in abject poverty.

"We, therefore, call on the law enforcement agents to investigate and prosecute Mimiko and Metuh at the law court. Mimiko should focus on the development of Ondo State and make efforts to fulfill his electoral promises rather than spending our money to resuscitating the dead PDP”, Adesanya stated.
