President Buhari Can Make All His Appointments From One Village � Pat Utomi

 

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent on Tuesday, political economist and public affairs analyst, Professor Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, popularly known as Pat Utomi, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has the liberty to appoint whomever he desires to work with as long as those chosen have the capacity to deliver.

In recent times, some Nigerians especially those from the South-East had expressed concern over the appointments made so far by Buhari. They said the appointments were lopsided and not in the best interest of the country and a calculated attempt to punish the region for giving him the least votes in the March 28 presidential elections.

The former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Mega Party, who described the criticism as  ‘small and petty’, said the president can make all his appointments from one village as long as those appointed can get the job done.

 

“Let’s get serious. Let‘s get to move this country forward and away from all this small, petty issues. To me it is not an important issue and I don’t want to deal with it. The President can appoint everybody from one village. As long as the people can get the job done, let them get it done. That is what Nigerians wanted and that is what they voted for”, Utomi said
