Unbelievable: Man Digs A Big Hole Inside His Garden, Gets In And Refuses To Get Out (Photo)

A man has dug a big hole inside his garden, gotten inside it and then refused to come out, sparking some rescue efforts.

According to a report by Metro UK, a man climbed into a really big hole in his garden and refused to get out.

Firefighters were called after the unnamed person launched the bizarre stunt at his home in Catherine Way, Batheaston, which is two miles east of Bath.

His neighbour Dominic Denny witnessed the strange incident last Tuesday and confirmed the man had dug the hole himself.

‘It started at about 4am this morning when there was a lot of shouting and screaming coming from the house opposite me,’ he told the Bath Chronicle. ‘The young man’s family was outside trying to get him back in the house.’

Help didn’t arrive until around 7am but when it did come it was impressive.

Mr Denny said ten different emergency service team members attended the location, including a specialist team from Avon Fire and Rescue Service.

He added: ‘They called the specialist in and they put together a kind of crane over the hole and then tried to go down and get him.’

He confirmed the whole estate was closed off while they dealt with the incident.

The man was eventually coaxed out of the hole, which he had been digging for weeks, but there was no explanation for why he made it in the first place.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: ‘We responded to the incident this morning in a support capacity.

‘We had to close the road because there were so many service vehicles in response, which was disruptive because it was on a bus route.

‘The incident was resolved and the man got out of the hole of his own accord.’
