This man named Bulama Bukar, a member of Boko Haram, had his hand cut off by the leaders of the sect in Sambisa forest, Maiduguri for stealing a bag of beans.
He was judged on the basis of the provisions of Sharia law.
Bukar was nabbed with his family members recently by Nigerian troops while trying to flee from the heat of the military attacks.
