Police Arrest Suspected Killer of 11-year-old Boy

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by detectives attached to the Kirfi Police Division over the killing of an 11-year-old boy in Beni, Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

 

Police Relations Officer in Bauchi, DSP Haruna Mohammed disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday.

 

The statement revealed that the suspect murderer, one Auwalu Manu using a hand trowel after which the suspect used the same weapon to slice his own throat in a bid to commit suicide but fell unconscious.

 

The police who visited the scene of the murder recovered the hand trowel stained with blood and arrested the suspect.

 

The victim and suspect were rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi where the victim was confirmed dead.

 

The suspect has been admitted in the hospital for medical attention under the watchful eyes of detectives while the corpse of the boy was released to victim's relatives for burial according to Islamic rites. 

 

Investigation into the matter to ascertain the cause of the murder is ongoing.
