Nigerians Slam FCTA for Banning #EndSARS Protests In Abuja

 

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has come under severe criticism for banning #EndSARS protests in Abuja.

 

Recall that the authorities at a security meeting held today October 15, banned the protests on grounds that the protesters have repeatedly flouted the COVID-19 protocols.

 

Nigerians on Twitter are now reacting to this decision. According to them, if President Buhari's daughter's wedding and Atiku's son's wedding can take place despite the COVID-19 pandemic, then the protesters should be allowed to protest in peace.

 

They also pointed out that the same FCTA allowed late Abba Kyari's funeral hold in such magnitude despite the COVID-19 pandemic. They wondered if COVDI-19 slept while these functions took place in the FCT.
