A source told SaharaReporters that the bandits later contacted their families and demanded a sum of N100million for their release.
Bandits have refused to release victims they kidnapped after collecting N9 million ransom.
The victims include 25 women and others abducted in three communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It would be recalled that the terrorists had on June 30, 2022, stormed the villages on over 30 motorcycles and murdered over 20 residents, before kidnapping the victims.
A source told SaharaReporters that the bandits later contacted their families and demanded a sum of N100million for their release.
He said the families were able to raise N9million which was sent to the gunmen, but they had refused to release the victims.
"The kidnappers have refused to release the 40 people including 25 women after paying them N9million as ransom,” the source said.
