Hon. Solomon Osho, an Ogun State lawmaker has been accused of age falsification and forgery.
According to SaharaReporters, a group under the aegis of Concerned Youths of Remo North Local Government of Ogun State has petitioned the State House of Assembly and Department of State Services (DSS) over alleged age falsification, and forgery by their lawmaker Hon. Solomon Osho.
The group accused the lawmaker of denying being a UK citizen before an appeal court ruling Appeal No: C/AK/EPT/NAS/286/2019 which specifically bordered on the qualification of any citizen with dual citizenship to validly run for office in Nigeria.
In a petition signed by Akinlolu Adesanya and made available to SaharaReporters, the group demanded a thorough investigation into the allegations levelled against the lawmaker.
The aggrieved youths stated that Osho’s date of birth on the British passport reads 22/06/1989 while his Nigerian passport reads 05/05/1984.
He also accused Osho of getting married three times with false information to cajole the Ministry of Interior to get at one Mayowa Anthonia Taiwo in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State with marriage certificate number AL01201.
The same lawmaker was said to have again, on May 5, 2018, at the First African Church Mission, Jehovah Shammah Cathedral, Lagos. had another marriage with the same person with certificate number CL184/2018.
He was said to have claimed to be 27 years old on his marriage certificate in January 2016. However, he claimed to be 28 “two years later”.
The petition says according to "Hon. Osho’s profile on the official website of the Ogun State House of Assembly, he obtained an LLB at London South Bank University but his law school certificate was omitted from his academic declarations to INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) in 2019 as opposed to its inclusion in 2015, on both occasions he contested for State House of Assembly.
"Apart from using unsuspecting children to score cheap political points with his invisible 'school bus empowerment', he has confused the public on several occasions with the source of funding with the proxy empowerments.
"Oftentimes, he claimed it was his NGO-sponsored program but magically the presumed empowerments become his political project.
"We seek open clarifications on his identity, implore leadership of the Ogun State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon Kunle Oluomo and the general public to apply caution using any information relating to Hon. Solomon Osho for official use to avert further confusion."
The group called on the State Assembly to investigate all the discrepancies and inconsistencies noticed in his documents which were attached to the petition as a matter of urgency and necessity for prosecution.
Efforts made by SaharaReporters to reach the lawmaker for reaction to the allegations were not successful as calls to his phones were not answered. He also did not reply to a text message sent to him.
