Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian lawmaker, has reacted after the newly-redesigned Naira notes were unveiled to the public by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Recall that the much taunted new Naira notes of N200, N500, and N1000 were unveiled at the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
At the unveiling, the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, warned against hoarding the old notes, saying the January 31st 2023 deadline to completely render the old notes useless remains.
However, Senator Sani expressed surprise that it was only a colour change that was introduced in the new notes. He disclosed this a terse message on his verified Twitter handle.
He wrote, “If it’s Naira colour, the CBN should have just engaged Snapchat.”
