Nollywood actress and evangelist Eucharia Anunobi has spoken out after a leaked audio linking her to Apostle Chikere Nwafor went viral online.
The issue began when a recorded discussion allegedly involving Apostle Psalm Okpe and a pastor known as Martins, also called Martin Ugbulu, spread across social media.
In the audio, unconfirmed claims were made about Apostle Chikere, and the conversation mentioned Eucharia, which quickly drew public attention within both entertainment and church circles.
The recording also carried claims about a woman allegedly behaving wrongly during a supposed private affair, but there was no proof to support what was said.
As the audio continued to trend, Apostle Psalm Okpe later apologised and said the claims were based on hearsay and should not have been discussed.
During a live video session, Eucharia reacted to the matter. She said the story was created to stain her name and destroy her public image, but the attempt did not succeed.
She also sent a message to bloggers and online critics, warning those who spread negative content about her.
She said: “They wanted to rubbish my name, but God came through. There was a plan to stain my image, but it failed.
“Every mouth that has spoken evil against you, God will silence them forever.”
Many of her followers expressed support after her reaction. They condemned the sharing of unverified recordings and warned that such behaviour can damage the reputation of public figures.
Eucharia Anunobi is a well-known Nollywood actress who became popular in the 1990s.
She has featured in many movies and also works as an evangelist and public speaker.
She once served as president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and remains a respected figure in the industry.
