Young Boy Nabbed In Kebbi After Allegedly Faking Being Deaf For One Year To Gather And Pass Information To Kidnappers

In a shocking revelation from Kebbi State, a young boy has been arrested for allegedly pretending to be deaf for nearly a year in order to secretly gather and relay information to kidnappers.

The disclosure was made by Abuzaidu Abubakar Yari in a Facebook post on Monday, March 2, 2026.

According to Yari, the boy confessed that he, along with two others, was sent to spy on residents in the Makera Gandu area of Birnin Kebbi.

During interrogation, the boy revealed that he had been taught sign language to communicate with his accomplices. Despite currently residing in Kebbi State, he is originally from Niger State.

Yari used the incident to caution the public, urging residents to remain vigilant and cautious of strangers in their communities. “Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious behavior to the authorities,” he advised.

The case highlights the sophisticated methods some criminal groups employ to carry out kidnappings and other crimes, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance.
