Veteran Nollywood actress and gospel minister Eucharia Anunobi has revealed more details about the painful de@th of her teenage son, stating that errors made during his treatment contributed to his passing.

The actress spoke about the incident during a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where she narrated what happened while her son was receiving care in the hospital.

During the interview, Anunobi explained that her son was in a critical condition when a student doctor attended to him.

According to her, instead of carrying out a blood transfusion which he needed at that moment, the student doctor allegedly removed blood from the boy’s body.

She said three pints of blood were taken from her son at a time when he was already struggling for survival.

The actress described the moment as painful and shocking, saying the action worsened the condition of the boy who was already very weak.

Anunobi also spoke about the emotional and financial pressure she faced while trying to keep her son alive.

She said she carried the responsibilities alone during the difficult period, including paying the bills and handling other needs connected to the situation.

According to her, the entire burden fell on her shoulders while she was trying to support her son through his illness.

She said: “Instead of the student doctor to do blood transfusion, the student doctor did blood extraction… I removed 3 pints of my son’s blood.

"I was the one paying rent, I was the one doing everything. Charles never brought 1 Naira.”

Her son, Raymond Ekwu, had been battling complications linked to sickle cell disease before his death.

The teenager passed away in 2017 after struggling with the health condition that had affected him for years.
