Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Nigerian Army troops have neutralized three terrorists, and during a fighting patrol in Zamfara state, a stockpile of weapons and ammo was found.
The military carried out the battle patrol in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area, encompassing Birnin Tsaba, Tsanu, and Dumburum villages, according to a report published on Thursday in Abuja by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The report states that troops made contact with the terrorists near Dumburum village, neutralizing three of them and recovering a cache of guns and ammo during the battle.
One AK-47 rifle, one SK-21 A1 machine gun, a locally made handgun, six AK-47 magazines, and one FN rifle magazine were among the items found, according to the report.
According to the investigation, 269 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 179 rounds of 12.7 x 108mm ammunition on links, and 123 rounds of 7.62mm unique ammunition were also found.
In the meanwhile, no military casualties were reported throughout the operation.
