Man Stabbed in Daylight Attack at Busy London Street

In a well-known tourist destination in downtown London, a guy was stabbed in broad daylight and taken to the hospital.

Just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, the man in his 30s was stabbed on Greek Street in Soho.

The man looks to be being stabbed with a knife while hundreds of people watch in a video posted on social media.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called to reports of a stabbing on the street by the London Ambulance Service.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital with a stab wound to the leg.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. No one else is reported to have been injured, and no arrests have yet been made.

A spokesperson for the Met said urgent enquiries are ongoing, adding that no arrests have been made at this early stage of the investigation.

Inspector Hannah Woodfield said she understood that news of the incident would be concerning for those visiting central London as well as the local community, but noted that it is believed to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the public.

She added that officers would remain in the Soho area for the rest of the evening carrying out additional patrols, and encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to approach them.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called at 4:25pm on July 23 to reports of an incident on Greek Street, W1D, and dispatched resources including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer, treating a patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.
