The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended a 27-year-old man, Solomon Onaola, in connection with the alleged d£fil£m£nt of a 15-year-old girl in Omifon, Odigbo Local Government Area.
The command disclosed the arrest through a statement issued on Tuesday by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
The matter was initially reported at Odigbo Divisional Police Station before being forwarded to the Gender Based Offences Unit for detailed investigation.
According to preliminary enquiries, the victim's guardian filed a report on August 2, 2026, indicating that the 15-year-old domestic helper employed in the household had repeatedly absented herself without authorisation.
When questioned regarding her whereabouts during these unauthorised departures, the girl disclosed that Onaola had been transporting her to his deceased mother's residence in Omifon, where he allegedly subjected her to unlawful s£xu@l conduct on multiple occasions.
Following this disclosure, police operatives initiated investigations, leading to Onaola's arrest.
The victim has been placed under protective care with necessary procedures being implemented consistent with protocols governing alleged s£xu@l offences involving minors.
The Ondo State Police Commissioner directed the Gender Based Offences Unit to conduct thorough and professional investigation establishing case facts and pursuing justice outcomes.
The command reaffirmed commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable populations from s£xu@l £xploit@tion, @bus£ and violent victimisation.
The command urged parents, guardians and the public to exercise vigilance, maintain focus on child welfare and report suspected @bus£ cases promptly to authorities.
Onaola remains in police custody pending court charges upon investigation conclusion.
