Sokoto Bleeds as Armed Marauders Strike Twice

B@ndits have k!lled two individuals and kidn@pped 11 others during coordinated att@cks on Taloka and Huda communities in Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

A resident of Taloka recounted that dozens of armed assailants astride approximately 20 motorcycles invaded the settlement around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Gunfire alerted inhabitants as perpetrators systematically proceeded through residential structures.

During an incursion into a dwelling housing several youths, the attackers succeeded in abducting one individual despite the others' escape.

The b@ndits subsequently raided the residence of Alhaji Yusuf, kidn@pping him alongside his daughter and daughter-in-law while k!lling his nephew.

Additional homes were targeted, resulting in the kidn@pping of two married women and two children from separate households.

Following the abduction of eight residents, Alhaji Yusuf informed the assailants he could not proceed due to his advanced age, whereupon they k!lled him and abandoned his body for later burial by community members.

In a separate incident at Huda village, farmers laboring on farmland around 9:30 a.m. on Monday encountered b@ndits who forcibly transported five individuals on their motorcycles. One captive was subsequently released.

The four remaining individuals were identified as residents of the area. Community members alleged that this represents the eleventh att@ck on the settlement, with previous incidents claiming multiple lives and resulting in 46 kidn@ppings during Ramadan, ultimately resolved through ransom payment and motorcycles.

Separately, law enforcement apprehended two suspected k!dnappers and rescued a 10-year-old boy kidn@pped from Gidan Madi Town, Tangaza Local Government Area.

One suspect was arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout, with preliminary investigation indicating involvement in a kidnapping syndicate operating across multiple local government areas.

The child was recovered when detectives intercepted two men transporting a sack, which the suspects abandoned upon detecting law enforcement, with the boy found alive inside.
