The husband of a Melbourne skincare company founder was possibly struck on the head with a hammer before being fatally stabbed during a home invasion, a court heard.
Zdravko Bilic was discovered dead in the front yard of his Sunshine Coast home in Queensland on July 14, 2025.
A 19-year-old woman, Kieysha Jade Sky, is charged with his murder along with vehicle theft and breaking into the home.
At a committal hearing on Wednesday, a forensic pathologist testified that an autopsy found a blunt force injury to the back of Bilic's head caused with enough force to break the skin, consistent with a hammer strike.
The court heard the autopsy could not determine whether the head injury came before or after the fatal stab wound.
Bilic had multiple bruises and cuts on his limbs and body but showed no defensive wounds from a knife attack.
There was no evidence the head wound knocked him unconscious.
Witnesses testified they heard shouting and saw two people running toward a car that sped away from near Bilic's home minutes after the alleged murder around 11.30pm on July 13.
His wife, skincare company founder Gry Tomte, was not home at the time.
Two other boys, aged 15 and 17, have also been charged with Bilic's murder under Queensland's adult crime laws.
All three face potential life sentences if convicted.
Sky declined to enter a plea or make any statement. She waved and smiled to supporters in court.
The magistrate ordered her to face trial in Brisbane's Supreme Court at a later date. She remains in custody with her case set to return to court on December 9.
Tomte posted an emotional anniversary message on Tuesday ahead of the hearing, marking 21 years of marriage to Bilic.
