Court Remands Factory Worker For R*ping Teenager

A 39-year-old factory worker identified as ThankGod Umana has been remanded in the Kirikiri Custodial Centre by an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem had told the court that the defendant who resides at No 8 Egunjobi Street, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State, committed the offence in April 2022 at his residence.

The mother of the victim found out about the alleged crime when she observed that her daughter was keeping to herself.

Akeem said;

“After much probing, the minor told her mother that the defendant had been s3xually molesting her.

“The case was reported at a police station and the defendant was arrested.”

Chief Magistrate, B. O. Osunsanmi who presided over the case on Tuesday August 2, ordered that the suspect be remanded pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The chief magistrate adjourned the case till August 25 for mention.
