The Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), is a ministry founded by Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, under Enugu Catholic Diocese.
Two Catholic groups, the MarysRose Evangelistic Association, Aba and Indigenous Confederates of Nigeria for Authentic Nationhood (ICNAN) have pleaded on behalf of Father Ejike Mbaka.
This followed the closure of his ministry for over two months now.
The groups appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to intervene for the reopening of activities at the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN).
The Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), is a ministry founded by Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, under Enugu Catholic Diocese.
SaharaReporters reported that on June 17, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev Callistus Onaga, placed a pastoral injunction on attendance to the ministry and enjoined all Catholics to stop visiting the ministry till further notice.
Following the pastoral injunction, activities in the ministry had since been ceased operation.
The ICNAN founder, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Evurulobi, in a letter to Governor Ugwuanyi titled: "Subsisting Canonical Appeal For/On Behalf Of Very Rev. Fr. Camilius Ejike Mbaka And Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN) Respectively: nullity of letter/document purported to have emanated from Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, Catholic Bishop of Enugu," appealed to him to intervene and assist the Adoration Ministry to present the "Notification Of Appeal To Pope Francis" to the bishop.
The Catholic priest, who faulted the closure of worship of God and other religious activities in the ministry, maintained that there was no justification for.
According to him, "the only real relationship or connection that could be said to exist between the person and ministry of Very Fr. Mbaka and the purported document can only be the type that exists between the Mother Church and a Deep Church; between the authentic Nigerian state and a Deep state; between Caesar and Brutus; between light and darkness; and between Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot, together with all the sharp contrasts, irreconcilable differences and violent oppositions that lie in between."
Fr Kenneth noted that the subsisting Appeal To Pope Francis for/on behalf of Very Rev. Fr. Camilius Ejike Mbaka and the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN) has, ipso facto, suspended the pastoral injunction with Ref: "CDE-DSS/AMEN/22 document and rendered it ineffectual.
He added, that "any further insistence on the legitimacy and validity of this document and its force in respect of Fr. Mbaka and the Adoration Ministry can only be a pointer to the real faces and hands that have worked in total disguise to kill Fr. Mbaka."
He explained that the significance of this recourse to the person/office of His Excellency, Ugwuanyi, "is that it is a strong and passionate Appeal praying you in the most humblest and respectful terms - to use your good offices to help the Adoration Family reach out to those concerned, especially, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Most Rev. (Dr) Callistus Onaga and the hierarchy of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu to rescind the decision to close down Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN) and to ensure the safety and security of Very Rev. Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka.”
