Ahead of the April 22 orientation exercise, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has warned prospective corps members assigned to Osun in 2026 Batch A Stream II to avoid travelling at night for safety.
The advise was provided by Mr. Ita Kubiangha, the Osun NYSC Coordinator, in a statement released on Tuesday in Osogbo by Mrs. Catherine Otemuyiwa, the scheme's spokesperson.
Kubiangha urged corps members to prioritise safety by travelling during the day and using recognised motor parks with assistance from transport unions in the state. He urged transport unions to assist corps members by conveying them to the orientation camp at approved rates.
He stated that the 2026 Batch A Stream II corps members' three-week orientation exercise will take place from April 22 to May 12.
According to him, the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for April 24. We warn corps members that traveling at night puts them at risk for mishaps and security breaches.
He said, “Parents and guardians should support and encourage their children as they undertake this phase of national service.” He urged corps members to adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and remain security conscious.
Kubiangha reaffirmed the scheme's and stakeholders' dedication to the security and well-being of every corps member assigned to the state. (NAN).
